Women working

I don't know where all of you stand with Christian women working. My brother and sister-in-law had a good discussion with my parents last night at dinner about it. My sister-in-law is having to work because my brother isn't making enough money to be able to save anything, so that's what all of her paychecks are going to, savings.

Look at what Titus 2:4-5 says "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

Look at the the older Christian women are to be doing; teaching the younger women, not mothers to be keepers at home. Do you know what a keeper truly is? If you look at the English, you could translate that to mean a housekeeper, a homemaker. But it's SO MUCH more than that!

The Greek word we get "keeper" from means "(a guard; be "ware"); a stayer at home, that is, domestically inclined (a "good housekeeper"): - keeper at home" The very first definition of it is a guard. How can a woman, not a mother, be a true guardian of her home if she works outside of it??? She can't!

Let's use my mom's example. If you were a guard at a military base, if that was your life 24/7, to be a guard, would they send you to England and expect you to guard the base? NO!! You cannot be a true guard if you're not there all the time. A woman is to see the attacks of Satan coming at her home and be prepared to defend and protect her home. She absolutely CANNOT do this if she's busy in the work-force.

God's Word is so pure, so perfect. He gives us so much in it, it's amazing! I love going back to the original language, you get such a deeper meaning of things that way and can truly see what God was trying to get through our thick sculls.

I hope this has given you something to think about.

God bless!
Nancy

  1. Hey Karla and Nancy! Glad to have found your blog. It is very encouraging. Keep on keeping on girls! Pop on over to my blogspot blog sometime, it's all about home making and being a mama to my lil boy.

I agree that women should not work, (except maybe home business I think the Proverbs 31 woman did that, but it didn't take up her entire day). I also agree that women do not need college, and I will be teaching my daughters NOT to go.
